Bought a brand new Iphone. Accidentally left it in the center console of the car when running to a redbox inside a grocery store. Hit the lock button on the remote, but didn't hear a honk. I figured I was just running in for a minute (didn't know I forgot the phone at this time), so I didn't turn around and try again. On the way back to the car, I thought to myself, "man I forgot my phone in the car and didn't lock it, would suck if someone stole it". Looked in the console before opening the door and the fricker was gone. Turned off and couldn't be tracked. I was gone for maybe 4 minutes. Had the phone for like 4 days.
I honestly think that's the only time I've personally had something stolen.

Worst car burglary case I saw was when I worked at a school.
Some student had her car broken into while class was in session. The thieves grabbed a laptop, her purse, and a spare key she held in her glovebox.
3 months later, they came back and stole her car with the spare key. All captured on video
Car was later recovered in NOLA completely wrecked

Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Department pulled me over and stole a handgun from my car. I was like 21 at the time, stopped for speeding. I refused to allow a search of my car, the dude said he would arrest me and they would have to search the car to inventory it to be towed so like an idiot I agreed. He took a stainless Springfield V10 and sent me on my way.

Yea had mine broken into in high school.
Was outside dealing with the police for 2 hours and when I went back to class the teacher failed me for the test I missed while outside dealing with the police. Had to ride home with no window, all the wires hanging out of my dash, my glove compartment open. Sucked
They stole everything that wasnt part of the car. My owners manual, change, and two cd books totaling about 250 cds. They even took my bridge toll pass that they used 2 hours after it happened.
What was even worse is that the band was practicing on the football field and watched the whole thing happen and no one did shite along with this was the only day I didnt park in my normal parking spot and put my car in the back of the lot.

My truck was broken into while in college. They stole my ipod and about $12 dollars in change, two cans of dip and a gatorade from my workout bag. They broke into my roommates truck as well and stole his radio. I now make it a point not to leave anything of value in the car when i get out.

Bike stolen when I was a kid
At LSU:
Stereo stolen out of car at the old Stanford Arms apts.
House on Alaska St. broken into. They stole both of my roomates clothes but not much of mine.
Apt. further north on Alaska St. had burglar bars pried off and TV stolen. They came back a few nights later for my Technics stereo but I was there....and armed. It was 2 kids...maybe 12 years old. They ran when I yelled.
As an adult:
Car broken into and all my CDs stolen....this was years ago.
Bicycle was stolen last year but cops got it back. Miracle!

1) Stereo out of my truck 15 yrs ago
2) "Misplaced" my class ring about 10 yrs ago, but pretty sure someone jacked it
3) Wife's car broken into (3 separate occasions). Took a cd case full of burned CDs, left a $1500 LV purse on the back seat.
Was on the TGV platform from Paris to Belgium in high school with some friends and a couple guys tried to pull a distraction scheme by asking me directions. Tried to grab our camera but one of the gals I was with swatted it away from him and they hauled arse. I chased them down the platform till they got to the escalator but they were long gone.

1 I had my truck broken into about 16 years ago and had about 100 CDs stolen. Then nothing until
2 About 5 years I was robbed at gunpoint in my garage. Five dudes jumped out from my neighbors garage 2 of them armed and demanded my wallet. I tossed it at one of them and ran past the other armed guy. As I was running I slipped in a puddle and the one of them shot at me. The bullet hit right next to me. All of them were eventually found and arrested.

Truck broken into while in college while at a "friend's apartment" because she didn't lock the door, (my first car to buy manual errything). They took my bag two days after I bought textbooks for the semester and my bible my grandad gave me. We found my bag in a ditch about a week later books ruined nothing missing. Never found the bible though, I guess they needed it more than me.

Had shite taken out of my vehicle while it was parked outside my home, apparently happened in the middle of the night while I was sleeping.
Unfortunately, I had left it unlocked with my wallet still inside. Fortunately, a neighbor found my stuff strewn across the property and I was able to recover the important stuff: driver's license and credit/debit cards. Only thing not recovered was cash, which I think was around 80-90 bucks.

I am the oldest grandson on that side very close to my grandfather. He never had much money, but one Christmas he wanted to do something really special and give each grandchild $500...except for me. In his generation, class rings are really important and it always bugged him that I never bothered with one for high school or college. Instead of cash, he insisted that he get me a graduation ring. I resisted at first, but eventually gave in. He was so excited to pick it out the design with me and the look on his face was glowing when it came in.
Well, it kind of grew on me but I'd still only where it for special LSU events. I was in Omaha for the CWS in 2009 and while we were at the zoo, I took it off in the bathroom to wash my hands (It was a little loose and didn't fit perfectly). I wasn't gone 5 minutes before I realized I walked out without it and in that time some frick had jacked it. I was furious. Still am with myself and the theif. He asks me every now and then if I wear it, but I've never had the heart to tell him what happened.

My truck was broken into in December.
Stole my work computer bag with most of my career in it, my wallet, and my pea coat.
Interestingly enough, my wallet was taken but all of my credit cards were scattered around my front seat, and they didn't make it to my gun in my center console. The detective thinks they were startled when they got to my wallet, dropped my cards and ran before they made it to my console.
My truck was one of three cars broken into that night in the complex and the other two were gone through completely, so mine was last.
