90 is way less headache than driving through BR.

I'd take 90. We're south of Lafayette and we NEVER go 10 to NOLA.

Jenerette City Marshals are very very unscrupulous and arrogant. DO NOT SPEED even 2 miles per hour over and watch the markings, limit changes out of the blue.

Only speeding ticket I ever got was on 90 in Jeanerette.

Almost no reason not to take 90. I don't like my odds gambling on I-10.

I drive to that area from New Orleans at least once a month and always take 90. I don't trust the Baton Rouge drivers to keep traffic running smoothly.

When are they going to turn 90 into I-49?

90 without a doubt. Most of the traffic in BR will be Port Allen East bound but I still wouldn't risk it. Get on 90 and set the cruise control.

24 minutes according to Google maps. Well worth it IMO.

Who the frick knows. They just re-did all of the lights on 90 from Lafayette to New Iberia. Pretty asinine decision for a future interstate IMO.

Have to go to Carencro and then to Crowley. The only problem with taking 90 is trying to go down evangeline in the afternoon on a friday

Honestly if you're going to Carencro you should probably take I-10.

90 is three hours flat. Pretty drive. But you will hit the Broussard traffic jam at that time. If you are headed to La Triomphe or Youngsville, 90 no question. If you are headed to the 'Cro or Scott or Duson, I'd take 10.

Download INRIX. Check it before you leave. Then check it once you get past MRB as there are frequent problems at Grosse Tete. You can bypass those at Lobdell exit to the Rosedale Road, which parallels 10.

Check it again before you hit the Basin Bridge. If Whiskey Bay is shut down, which happens, scoot up to 190 then west to Opelousas then down to Lafayette.

I'd take I10 to Lobdell then take 190 to Lafayette. Going eastbound is never as bad as trying to head westbound on a Friday. Especially if you are leaving at 1.

Yup. Slow down in Livonia, Krotz Springs, and Port Barre for sure.
