The tweet with those backwoods, deplorable coal miners in that horrible flyover state learning to code was especially delicious

Glad to see huffpost is slowly going away...
I kinda wanna start learning how to code now...where do I start coach??

Pretty hypocritical to criticize people for making fun of laid off oilfield workers yet exalting at these folks losing their jobs.
Unemployment sucks and can take a toll on a person. As much as I disagree with someone, I still wouldn’t want them to go through it.

The word journalist and journalism are lost arts. Today's it's pushing a social/political agenda, regardless of whether it contains common sense or taste.

Should journalists learn to code? (2009)
diversity is our...weakness?

The other argument often made by the code-boosters is that learning to program somehow makes you a better writer. But so does reading great books, traveling to exotic locations, or getting yelled at by your editor because your lede is boring. If the end goal is in fact better writing, why not do something that is more directly applicable?

That's the first time I've encountered Latinx outside the writer from America.
It will never stop being lulzy to me.

Seeing a bunch of self absorbed delusional hypocrites lose their self absorbed delusional hypocritical jobs is quite entertaining. Sorry not sorry

I don’t know, man. She did say “literal PhD,” and we all know everyone uses that word correctly. And would a journalist make up something like that to tell a story?

But she said LITERAL.
These opinion writers calling themselves journalists are hilarious.

Those aren't "people"... they're "gender journalists" (whatever the frick that means)

I agree, unemployment is terrible. I’ve been there.
Only difference that I see is that if someone told me, hey bro learn to code, my immediate response would be “are people hiring for that? Where to I go to sign up?”

No journalism degree.
No writing talent.
Not even a shred of proficiency in simple grammar.
But muh opinion articles.

Please. Unemployment is not the end of the world. If they aren't total snowflakes they can handle it.

Latinx (La-Tinks) sounds like a black tranny in a strip club outside the airport

Except these people are verifiable pieces of dog shite, so it IS karma and it IS funny to those of us who have been paying attention to how hateful they are.

Oilfield workers are exponentially more important to society than a BuzzFeed gender studies opinion writer. These people's smug attitudes and overinflated sense of self are begging for this level of trolling.
