BLM completely missed the boat with how they approached this issue. If they had pushed the fact police are more and more becoming revenue generators that trample on civil rights instead of making it a race thing we'd all be better off.

BLM missed the boat because there was no boat, they were protesting the shooting of the likes of Jacob Blake, who raped a girl and tried to stab a cop. Or Rashard Brooks who passed out drunk in a drive thru, got free of the handcuffs and tried to stab a cop. Or Breonna Taylor standing in the hallway as the cops returned fire after her boyfriend shooting a cop. Or Stephon Clark who broke into several cars, ran from cops, then pointed a cellphone at them in a shooters stance. And they created this narrative that hundreds of innocent black men were getting shot daily, when really it’s been going down every year for the last 20, and is only about 10-20 deaths a year. Most of whom were asking for it.

They rioted over these idiots. And we will never have racial harmony again because of it. That’s why BLM missed the boat. It didn’t exist. There was never any boat.

It's all about revenue, you're guilty until proven innocent, and there are a lot more officers with inflated egos and on power trips.

That’s the way it’s always been, only now with smartphones everyone can see what happens. All cops aren’t the same, but at the end of the day a lot are just trying to make an arrest which just leads to more jail and prison overpopulation because people are making money off of it. I’ve also just been exposed to the justice system in SE Louisiana after 43 years of towing the party line when in comes to the justice system down here and a blind man could see the problems that’s currently happening.

Well the Louisiana state police is the most corrupt organization in the state.

I think State police just depends on which individual officer you deal with. There's definitely a lot of dudes who are on power trips there but a lot of them are guys just doing their jobs.

This is true.

Guilt or innocence has nothing to do with it. The only one concerned about your rights is you. They are happy to find you guilty, and collect your fine. You’re more than welcome to spend 15 or 20k appealing. They don’t give a shite if you win. They already got your pound of flesh.

Care to elaborate? I'm not really well versed with this.

Your BLM argument is BS. Cops in Lincoln parish arrest more whiteys for DUI than they do in EBR (pop in EBR is 10x.)

Christ, have you spent any time in LA?

Who passes laws police are supposed to enforce? Why did cops give two sh1ts about loosie cigs that didn't collect tax revenue? Cops didn't care.

So who is to blame for asking cops to arrest Garner because they missed out on taxes? The legislature. From FedGov on down, the legislature makes laws. It's not hard.

None huh?
LOL!
Ye of little knowledge.

Come put on my boots for 3 shifts and I promise you that the world as you know it would never be the same.

I pray for the world around me to never have to see, know, smell or even have to imagine things I have encountered.

We are all bad, huh?

Thats always nice to know.
Thank you for your input.

I will always answer your call for service.

So what ended up happening? The officer would have to give him the intoxilizer test at the jail unless your friend refused. Was there any body camera video?

Another cop pulled up and saw what was going on, and made the overly zealous one let him go.

No

We live under the absolute need for law and order.

Gonna have some screw ups and bad situations but without some forceful push at crime, we would fall into the 3rd world country stuff.

It doesn’t take much for that to happen

And what help would that be?

To respond to the crime scene after it’s happened. People who expect the police to protect them are sadly mistaken. 2020 showed that. Be prepared to protect yourself because 5-0 isn’t coming to save you.

I think the majority are good guys, but you have some in these small towns who’s only job is to write bullshite speeding tickets to generate revenue for their department so they can keep their shitty small town job.

Like the fricking lying a-hole Baldwin cop that pulled over my wife while I was following her. My GPS and speedometer showed 74 mph and this lying cocksucker gives her a ticket for 80 mph so the city of Baldwin can keep the money since it’s 10 mph over posted speed limit.

If you’re reading this you a-hole lying cop, I hope you get arse cancer.

Why does anyone in Harris county (and others) ever bother to stop? We know what the outcome is going to be, so why not just keep lighting up that Dodge bra?

I definitely hate CERTAIN departments, especially those podunk louisiana departments that would rather hand out tickers than decrease crime in their communities.

I personally don’t think that the Port Barre PD is our biggest problem, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

Until they agree to end qualified immunity and all unions they are nothing more than the armed antithesis of the freedoms this country was founded on.

Cops don't make the laws. If you don't think selling untaxed loosies are unimportant, you remove the law. Then there is no cause for the stop.

I suggest you go to Officer Down Memorial Page and watch how fast some officers have been killed. You can't complain about qualified immunity when officers die, on the regular. Sue any city or state agency that you like, but the officer getting smashed by a perp shouldn't have any liability if I would have stuck my firearm into his pelvis and protected myself in a similar fashion.

It's not hard. Put your hands, even for a traffic stop, where PD can see them, and don't move them. You're not going to get shot. Why is my wallet in my left pocket, not my right? Because my tool is at 4 o clock, and if I have to reach for my ID, there is no confusion.

I think small town police are actually the worst.

After what have seen over seas I don’t think you should be allowed to be a cop in the same town or area you grew up in. It should be a job like the military, they take you from a large pool and insert you into a place of need and you should probably rotate like the military every 4-6 years go to different locations and lose what ever bias you had

The Iraq and Afghan police were all corrupt bc they were all local imo, the Iraq and Afghan army were all less corrupt bc there was not the local my cousin sisters husbands son, and don’t mess with him or her I recognize that last name bs.

You realize you're talking about Louisiana, where most would rather work at Outback with their degree than be more than an hour from their cousins, right?

A lot of people say, well, there are a few bad cops, but they are mostly good. I take the reverse stance that there are just a few good ones.
