Uh this drug isn’t new, at all.

Nearly 30 years old actually. The brand names (Ozympic, Wegovy) may be relatively new, but Semaglutide has been around and in use for a long time.

I don’t know if it’s lifetime or not. But some friends of ours are on the shot. They lost weight but look very gaunt.

I should know this, but how exactly does it work?

I think my boss is on it. he's about 5'-8-ish was probably pushing 240 with a beachball stomach.. now he's definitely smaller.

Every female fatty I’ve know in the office has been very vocal about what diet they’re on for over a decade. I’ve yet to see a change in any of them.

GLP-1s have been in use since 2005. Ozempic since 2017. FDA approved since 2021 for weight loss. I am pretty sure all of those have seen some off-label use as weight loss drugs pretty early. FDA approval for weight loss allows them to be covered by insurance or at least makes it a bit harder to deny coverage.

It’s like the movie the substance.

Women will lose weight stop taking it and gain it back. They will then get the needle again.

The addiction will be staying thin even though no one cares and those who are smart enough know you are lazy.

Most people who are taking the shot will not admit to anyone that they are.

The shot is a life long endeavor. Once you reach optimal weight, you go on a maintenance dose. Most of the people that take these meds are diabetic, pre diabetic or insulin resistant. These are conditions that don't go away.

You don't have a weight requirement any longer?

You wouldn’t be insulin resistant if you didn’t spend 3 decades being fat

The majority of them don't, to me it's a waste of taxpayer's and insurer's money. A pill can't cure laziness and impulsiveness.

Fasting is proven to be the most effective way of reducing insulin insensitivity and it's free. I've been doing intermittent fasting for 3 years and lost 40 pounds and have kept it off.

Edit: Lol at the fatties downvoting me. God forbid you have to work hard and discipline yourself.

So just to confirm, you are against all drugs that adjust or correct chemical imbalances in people. Or just ones that help fatties lose weight?
