Paintball to anywhere is no where near getting shot or blown up.

Shot? No, not shot.

Pellet gun right on a butt check. Glad he didn’t pump it up ten times.

Wanna know how you don’t get shot?
Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Be sure of your target and aware of what is beyond it.
Keep your finger outside of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
In addition to that.
1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring their friends who have guns.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.
3. Only hits count. Close doesn’t count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
4. If your shooting stance is good, you’re probably not moving fast enough, nor using cover correctly.
5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived and who didn’t.
8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting is more dependent on “pucker factor” than the inherent accuracy of the gun.
10. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. “All skill is in vain when an Angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket.”
11. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
12. In combat, there are no rules, always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
13. Have a plan.
14. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won’t work.
15. Use cover or concealment as much as possible. The visible target should be in FRONT of your gun.
16. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
17. Don’t drop your guard.
18. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.
19. Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them).
20. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
21. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
22. Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
23. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
24. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Friend of mine was shot up in the desert with an AK. One bullet took most his ear off. He walks with a cane but he's alive.

Walking a gravel road in Sherburne, a friend of mine stupidly fired a .22 round in the ground. A fragment of the bullet went into my arm. Luckily it didn't penetrate too far and I was able to pull it out.

During basic training I was carrying the M60. They Jamed easy with blank rounds. My was jamed. We had to exit the Humvee quickly. I jumped off and hit the stock of the weapon on the ground. The blank round went off and I felt the charge hit me under the chin. If it was a live round my brains would have been splattered all over the place.

That SOB is lucky to be alive because it ripped through his femoral artery. I didn’t see the shot or him, but saw the aftermath… I didn’t know the human body had that much blood in
How is he not dead?

Been shot at twice not counting Vietnam.
Once bullet wizzed by my head.
Another time bullet hit the hood of my truck even with the driver’s side and ricocheted over the roof.
Think it’s my MiL that hired someone. She’s cheap so maybe I got lucky. Not the best marksman. She’s that evil.

Yes.
It is a burning feeling.
Took me a few months to get back to 80% use of my leg.
Woke up in recovery and they keep you in ICU at night.
One surgeon asked if I could move my feet and arms. Then she said get some sleep.
Tried then the Nurse in ICU kept waking me up saying I need to stay awake.
My advice do not get shot.
