I personally have never been shot but back In JROTC one of my guys took a paintball to the face during an exercise. Very scary situation. Just curious if anyone has ever had that experience.

Depends on your definition.

I highly doubt taking a paintball is similar to being shot by an actual bullet.

Wanna know how you don’t get shot?
Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Be sure of your target and aware of what is beyond it.
Keep your finger outside of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.

There is a guy on the outdoor board who was shot through the neck with a high powered rifle and survived. Pretty incredible story if you can find it. Before reading about it I would have said that there would be no way for a human to survive that.
T4 was the guy.

A friend of mine shot himself accidentally in the leg. He was alone out on some property riding a tractor. Couple surgeries and pins etc. He has a slight limp. He said it hurt like hell.
I said "Nice shooten Tex". Lol

Yeah, not my first thought on a sunny Saturday morning during football season.

I had a cousin shoot himself in the leg while fricking with his rifle.
That SOB is lucky to be alive because it ripped through his femoral artery. I didn’t see the shot or him, but saw the aftermath… I didn’t know the human body had that much blood in it.

Budy of mine shot himself through the leg(calf)
He said it felt hot, really hot, then adrenaline/shock kicked in and he didn’t feel much. Another buddy drove him to get help. No long term damage
This is a Catholic BR 2006 grad so a lot on here likely know the same story

Coworker shot his ring finger off with his 45. The pistol fell between the seats of his truck and when he tried to dislodge it the gun went off.
I know by default I’m trashy by having a coworker shoot his finger off.

Got shot in hunting accident when I was 12. 12 gauge 6 shot. Went through left leg from 10ft away. Broken femur, 2 months in hospital. 6 pins in leg. Was hell for awhile. No problems now. Almost bled to death before ambulance came.

T4 is a friend of mine so I’ve seen the scares and heard the story first hand the guy is very very lucky to still be here with us. And bye the way he is a great guy family man father of three and very involved with his kids. I’m so very glad he is still here with us.

I accidentally pierced my eyelid with a magazine spring once.
I was wearing that shite like some weird Goth jewelry. Had to sit there and figure out which way to rotate it to get it out. "Righty tighty" isn't obvious when you've just mind-melded with a piece of steel.
