Driving thru Pierre Part during LSU/Florida game a few years back ( coming home from a wedding)Game was close in 4th qtr and I was doing like 45 in a 30. Cop rang me up and between talking about the game and mom talking to him about people they knew in common…he let me go…lucky my mom was there.

I have gotten a lot of tickets in my 57 years. Never gotten out of a single one. But I was guilty every time. I know the drill. Just hand over license and registration and few words are ever spoken.

Had a buddy who had a really bad stomach ache. Told that to the cop. Cop didn’t believe him. He proceeded to essentially piss out of his arse and the cop let him go.

If this were a state trooper, they would have still given him a ticket and would add a public urination charge.

I was doing 83 in a 70 on I-10 going home on leave and it wasn't alot of traffic. I still had my uniform on and I apologized to the cop and said yeah I was cruising and was over the speed limit. Then he asked where I was going and where I was stationed and he said I'll let you off with a warning and told me watch my speed and be careful. I would say I deserved it ,but the cop was cool and my uniform probably got me out of it.

I might win this one….

In college I bumped a curb on the way to the dorms from a bar to pickup a girl to take her back to my apartment. Cop pulled me over and I admitted to having a few beers but obviously wasn’t blackout or even close.

He put me in the back of the police car and started searching mine. He found a can of dip I had and asked if he could have some. I told him just to take the can.

Meanwhile the girl had come down the stairs and was watching from the door window. The cop then told me it was my lucky day and that he’d park my car then take me home in the cop car. We got halfway there when he asked why I was even in this area since my apartment was the other way from the bar. I told him about the girl wanting to come over.

“Go ahead and call her back”. He then turned around picked her up and took us both to the apartment. So no ticket or DUI, just an Uber from a cop before Uber arrived as a thing

Every time I've been pulled over, the police officer had me breaking a law of some sort. So to that end, I could have been cited each time deservedly. Speeding or expired tags is all I've been pulled over for. Got tickets all the time when I was young 20s. I've been pulled over one time in like 10 years and got a warning for speeding. Pulled out of a Home Depot, and legitimately didn't know the speed limit was 30. Road felt like a 40 road so I was going 40. I even looked for a speed limit sign and there wasn't one between HD and where I got stopped. Asked the officer if the speed was posted and he said "yes". I said I must have just missed it and thought it was 40. I now live in the area, and the speed is in fact not posted between the exit at HD and where I got pulled over.

Got pulled over approaching Alexandria on I-49 years ago. Cop told me he had me 99 on vascar and 100 on radar. Gave me the 100 ticket. I Said he could have given me the 99. We both laughed. Had a lawyer son of a friend look into it. Never paid a penny.

Forest Hill Officer Molinere 55 in a 35 I was actively looking for a speed limit sign never saw one.

Officer walking up to car I throw both hands out the window and tell him I have a loaded gun in the car.

He secures the pistol & I stay put behind the vehicle. He says all good I'm going to put your firearm in the back seat.

He opens door and is shocked and looks at me saying there isn't any room on this side. 5 black long guns in tactical bags with loaded mags in the gun bag pockets.

He secures the firearm on passenger side comes back to speak with me. Qualified my story of why I was in Forest Hill with Florida plates. He threw a few curveball questions while being an absolute professional.

Gave me a seatbelt violation & said carry on, no points!

I pretty much deserved every single one I received.

There was one that I can remember that I did not deserve.
My grandfather (RIP) use to build rockers, swings, etc in retirement to generate a little income and just to have something to do. He always went up around Pitkin, La to pick up cypress boards. Once he was older my mom sent him with me for this task. I was coming over a hill in a 1500 GMC Sierra with a 20' utility trailer loaded down with wet cypress boards. Cop said he clocked me at 67 and there is no way I was going one mph over the speed limit. I ended up getting out of the moving violation, but never drove through Oakdale again.

I actually talked my way out of a ticket in St. Gabriel one morning and also in Henderson.

St. Gabriel PD: Same officer gave me a speeding ticket about a month before and recognized me. I was going less than what I was doing the last time and he felt the need to have an "intervention talk" with me.

Henderson PD: where they usually sit between concrete barriers coming off basin bridge. I was running late for a client meeting at Lourdes. Told the officer "I have to get to Womens and Childrens real fast so if you're gonna give me a ticket, please hurry." He handed back my license and told me to be careful.

I’ve actually had a good string of luck with cops.

In the past 5 years I’ve been pulled over twice for speeding. Nothing crazy but 12-15 over the limit on open roads, no traffic and both times I got off with a warning.

I don't know that I ever "deserved" a ticket but I have managed to talk my way out of several over the years. Makes my wife madder than a wet hen LOL...

I was doing 65 in what I thought was a 55 on State HWY 67 in Florette, Alabama. There is a High School in Florette about 1/4 mile off the state hwy. and the state hwy was a school zone...a 35 MPH school zone. I did not know the school was there, did not see a school zone sign but saw a state trooper spin around and turn on the blue lights....so I pull into a convenience store parking lot and go inside to take a piss and when I come out he is sitting behind the truck. He told me I was speeding and I told him I was doing about 65 and had to piss. He told me he was giving me a warning but did not actually write a ticket. Damned decent of him....in Georgia 30 over can be a felony...I suspect that is so in Alabama also, especially in a school zone. It was late july so school was not in session but apparently that state hwy is a school zone 365 days a year.

I've never gotten a ticket I didn't deserve. I did get out of one when I was a teenager in a notorious speed trap (Maurice, Louisiana) because the cop knew my mom would end up paying for it. I did yes sir and no sir the guy up and down, though.

I did have a few tickets "taken care of" by my stepdad when I was an adult, it pays to have a deputy sheriff in the family. I usually had to pay for an expired inspection sticker, but I just didn't have a moving violation on my record. They really just wanted the money.

Nope, every time I've been pulled over I've gotten a ticket. A few times when I didn't deserve it, never the reverse.

Entering Dallas from I-20 near 635 loop.

Was going 15-20mph over and a state Trooper got me. I was early 20’s and active-duty at the time. He let me go I think either cause of my manners or he was former military too

Yeah. I had one beer at lunch with a bunch of older coworkers when i worked as an intern and was only 20yrs old. Internship was in Florida and I was there as LSU student intern. The cop smelled beer and did all the cop things. After calling my boss and verifying the story he followed me back to my apartment and told me to not go anywhere for 24 hours. That truck didn't leave my parking space for two weeks....LOL.

Work treated me like royalty and payed me for 15hrs of work per week for two weeks without the need to go into the office. It became a huge HR thing but no one got fired because I wouldn't tell on who actually bought me the beer. It was all really stressful but noone got fired and cop didn't give me a DUI. Looking back i don't believe it would play out the same way in 2025....but in 2004 things were a little different.
