I watched a few episodes with my wife and kids but never got into it.

Hoppers Cabin is located nearby and has been turned into an escape room which we've done.

nostalgia

I'd heard of it but knew nothing about it. Over Thanksgiving my son and his wife were watching it. I sat down and said "This looks like the 80's". My son said, "It is. Started in 1983 and now it's 1986." I'm like cool my middle school years to first year in high school this will bring back memories, so I started watching.Watched like 15 minutes and couldn't get into it.

I liked the first few seasons way back when it came out but I watched the last full season late and really forgot everything that happened. Haven’t watched any of the recent ones and am not in a hurry to.

However, i know tons of people who are huge fans of the show and holy shite they are pissed off at this season 5 - I am not sure why but they are raising hell about it

That would probably the ten minute "I'm gay" monologue by one of the lead characters, who has unlocked his superpowers by being gay.

I mean it's Netflix. They should have seen it coming a mile off.

Not only have I never watched it, the show is filmed in my hometown (Rome, GA) and I have never watched it.

My family (who does watch it) dragged me and some of our friends to a Stranger Things escape room (the puzzles were related to events in the show). I was as useless as tits on a boar hog.

The Hoppers Cabin escape room is the one I did. It's now out of business.

Raises hand.

Just not my thing. My 16 year old, however, loved it.

I saw the actor and actress that play the older brother and Nancy both coked out of their ever loving minds on top of Ponce City Market a few years ago. They were tiny and looked roughhhhh

Watched all five seasons. The novelty of season one is kind of special. It does a really good job of recapturing the early 80s. After that, the show dips up and down in quality, season four being pretty good after a couple of lesser seasons.

5 is mostly a farewell to the characters and conclusion to the show. If you try not to take it too seriously it’s fine.

The story is meh but it’s fun because of the time period it’s set and they do a good job of capturing the time.

It seems popular with the NPR types. Never watched it, don't have Netflix

I grew up in the 90s and felt like it was aimed at a bit of a younger audience for some reason.

And the audience a bit older, the 1st season captures what it was like growing up in the 80s perfectly.

Sister’s wedding reception was at the old B&B house used the last 3 seasons.

That house is across from my church. It’s now owned by Netflix. On Apple Maps, it’s marked as Vecna House.

Fun story. Prior to filming Season 3, the previous owners let the yard grow up and get raggedy in accordance with Netflix’s wishes. The neighbors (who didn’t know why and the owners were contractually prohibited from telling them) took up a collection and hired a lawn service to clean it up. Netflix had to step in and stop it from happening and tell the neighbors why.
