There appear to be some signs that the shear is starting to aid downshear left convective burst. This might be the 1st signs that Harvey is trying to turn the corner.
Harvey has been going off basically since this process started last night.

High level of lightning in #Harvey this morning. Usually this is a sign of quick strengthening. Map from lightningmaps.

not even gonna lie, harvey looked like a disorganized piece of taffy last night, now he starting to look like the man yo girl told u not to worry about

Go to sleep at midnight and he's still looking a touch ragged. Just got bumped to a TS.
Seven hours later, looks like a damn hurricane and certainly strengthening. Expanding cloudshield around it. Increasing symmetry. Amazing how fast these things can get ramped up.
Also, the GOES 16 needs a NSFW tag for the weather needs out there.

at the 10am advisory they might have to shift the track slightly northwest to account for the more northerly movement overnight unless it starts moving due west.
Posted on 8/24/17 at 7:06 am to tiger91
probably hard to tell if it is moving more west, recon will tell us though.

Uh I'm thinking that number is wayyyyy low

I think the west movement is more of the illusion of the expanding outflow.

Tv tells me that after flooding rains @corpus for days, then it moves northeast and sits off holly beach a couple days. Alas.

Just lost a page in this weather thread. That's usually a sign things are serious.
