Order to leave or order to hunker down is chance for any gov't official. They are guessing and taking a chance. A no win situation.
I've always studied the situation and made my own decisions. I know what is better for me. I don't like depending on the gov't.

I don't know about now. But earlier it was almost bone dry from Westheimer to Woodway (before you began to approach the bayou, anyway). 610 feeder from Post Oak northward was impassible.

TWC was one who said it could get that high. They started backing down from that prediction, but they for certain said it.

Can you guys stop with the bullshite about evacuations? That is all in the past and should be for a separate thread. It is making it hard to sift through that pissing match to find out important info here, for which I and others are very thankful.
Good call. I won't talk about it anymore

Anyone else thought to pull a Google traffic map while this is going on?
The old Texas phrase "you can't get there from here" has finally come true...

So should we brace for the worst again in SE. LA?
I'm scheduled to work all week but if it's flooding again I'm getting my kids and my people the hell out of here before the shite hits the fan. Maybe I and a couple guys ride it out and cook for folks but I'm not putting the little ones through this again.

Omni's section of Woodway I'd definitely be concerned about given its proximity to the bayou.

Can anyone with meteorological experience weigh in on the chances of significant restrengthening with the center looking to be moving offshore?
Posted on 8/27/17 at 9:47 pm to fr33manator
SE LA shouldn't be too bad.
