Based on the number of drowning deaths reported so far I'd say he made the right call. We'll see when it is over.

The amount of damage to property is going to be the same either way.

Damn there is one elderly man in Dickerson on oxygen and bed ridden. Water is up to his mattress and his doors are locked. Only has a phone and trying to get rescue there with the water rising steady.

Houston may be in for a nice long break in the very near future.

Harvey continues to move east, and drier air is basically destroying convection inside of these last few bands.

Some of the stuff on here. I'm no weather guru by any means but it looks like some are predicting it heading way east. Tell me I'm wrong and dumb. Please.

bullshite, I've been following this thing since it was an invest moving into the Bay of Campeche. No one before Friday had any figures that topped 40 and those were always noted as "spot areas" not total rainfall for a whole region. You think if someone heard 60 inches on a Tuesday they would still be hanging around? This thing hit rapid intensification so fast that pro mets could barely believe it.

I haven't seen anything that looks particularly scary for SE LA, but I'm not a weather expert. Might've missed whatever was posted that's worrying you though.
