Rita killed 113 people. 107 were due to the evacuations.

can anyone link the news release about sienna plantation? that's where I am at and until now we have been high and dry with little evidence of potential flooding

Of course, but their is a fine line between not inciting a panic, and lulling people into a false sense of security. Not an easy line to walk, so I'm not claiming to have all the answers, even with the benefit of hindsight.

Can you guys stop with the bullshite about evacuations? That is all in the past and should be for a separate thread. It is making it hard to sift through that pissing match to find out important info here, for which I and others are very thankful.

Many people have been through this before and leaned on that experience to decide to stay or go.

We left for Ike, and stayed for Harvey. We had very little damage from Ike, but were without power for like 2 weeks. I haven't lost power and have no damage up to this point from Harvey.

Hell, was it Friday where someone started a thread making fun of people in Houston checking in as safe on Facebook because they were 200 miles from the storm? And there were lots of people laughing along with him.
