I didn't say they said it on Tuesday. This was soon before the storm was making landfall.

Hey man, are you close to the water or further inland ? I am on a boat canal in Bal Harbour. Looks like after this band we may get a little quieter. That lull this afternoon allowed the canal to drop over a foot. We have definitely jumped over a snake so far.

Getting a little worried in Lafayette. House was ok last August though.

I would expect flash flooding in certain areas but nothing that will stick around for days. As you know, that could change a lot over the next 48 hours though.

Where are you seeing this?

Can anyone with meteorological experience weigh in on the chances of significant restrengthening with the center looking to be moving offshore?
Not a met but nothing I've seen shows re-intensification. Wind isn't even the worry, will probably stay between 35-50 for quite a while longer. The problem is stationary storm with huge rainfall amounts.

So far it is still supposed to turn north before Beaumont.
I'm watching closely too.

Latest model run says it would become a TS again over the water. I'm not a fan of it going back out into the gulf.

Houston may be in for a nice long break in the very near future.
Harvey continues to move east, and drier air is basically destroying convection inside of these last few bands.
As I say this, I'm seeing the 00z NAM, and it isn't promising - 60HR forecast:

Damn there is one elderly man in Dickerson on oxygen and bed ridden. Water is up to his mattress and his doors are locked. Only has a phone and trying to get rescue there with the water rising steady.
Damn .. where are you getting this??? This breaks my heart.

Would you bet on that? Serious as shite. I'm seeing some projections on here that don't look promising and no lie I'm kind of worried. Gun shy after last year.
We don't know for sure this storm won't skirt the coast as predicted earlier this week. Rainfall still a serious concern, especially with how wet this summer has been. Ground is fairly saturated and in NOLA one can only imagine the pump situation.

Forgot the area. The traffic on Zello has picked up a bunch the past hour. It's non stop.

Guy on TWC just said not expecting reintensification

Just heard they are doing a controlled release of the Addicks Reservoir dam. Not sure on details but they don't want it to burst and not have any control.
