Presser about the reservoirs now. Some houses are definitely going to get hit if they are not flooded already. Just a brutal situation.

Watching the Addicks/Barker presser, and it seems like long term flooding rain will be the homes that back up to the reservoir. The released water will be a problem downstream.

I wish someone who thinks the entire SETX coast and inland cities, including the 4th largest city in America, would explain the logistics of evacuating the millions of people from all the areas where the significant flooding was predicted to hit.
We're talking everyone from. Corpus Christi to Beaumont, and 100 miles inland.
More people would have died if an evacuation of that area was called. By the end of this, more people would have died evacuating for Rita than will have died in Harvey.

Is there some type of front in NW La that is squelching northern movement? The rain seems to stop in an east-west line across NW La.

I don't think they need to call an evacuation for people with common sense to leave flood prone areas.

Why is it that the rains seem to amplify at night?

While the mayors office has proven that they are shite, how much of the blame goes on the citizens that decided to stay? Or the operators of the nursing homes and hospitals? You can't rely on the government to take care of you.
Also, it's not 1970. Every citizen has easy access to the same information that meteorologists have. We've known here for quite a few days now how bad it was going to be.

Just got the phone call that our hospital will be sending Air Force medical teams down within a day or two. Lucky enough to be one of the guys getting to go, hope it's quick

shite man. I'm praying the rain stops and water doesn't get in your house. We are looking at our house flooding out if the Brazos tops 60 feet imon Tuesday. This is very unnerving.
