What are the estimates for number of residences flooding? Seems like half the people I know in Houston are posting picthrss of flooding or water rising at their houses

Thats where I live, but I've been staying at the omni hotel the last few nights by the galleria bc i didnt wanna lose power so I really dont know how bad it is out there. The omni is fine bc there's a huge hill you go up to get to it.

Talked to someone in West U earlier and they were ok... Said there was water in front and back yard, but would have to go another foot to get in houses where they are... take it for what its worth

The water was within an inch of coming through our front door last night. Strangely enough, even though it's still raining, the water level is receding. You can almost see our sidewalks again. You can almost see your sidewalks again. There must be some drainage somewhere. That's good news. As bad as it was here in Deer Park i know a lot of people have had it a lot worse. Stay safe y'all let's hope this drains out before the next band hits us.

I also think it's fake. They all seem to be acting normal/content, including the cat on the back of the couch.

Thanks aggieland, I have a couple steps before you get in my house, I was just curious bc it sounds like you live in the area, it freaking floods on a basic summer storm. Hopefully our house makes it then. Thanks again

Based on snapmap, best source I have, I didn't see any water-in-house snapchats.

Tried leaving the neighborhood. Turned around. White Oak by me has a ways to go still luckily.

I don't think the photo itself is fake...I'm just not sure it's actually happening during this event.

My mom was supposed to stay at Main and S. Braeswood tonight for an appointment at MD Anderson tomorrow. I can almost certainly tell her she can't get to and stay in that area tonight, correct?

Md Anderson has cancelled everything except in patient services.

ALL MD Anderson locations will remain closed for outpatient services, surgeries and appointments on Sunday, Aug. 27 and Monday, Aug. 28, due to severe weather in the Houston area. Only inpatient hospital care areas will remain active. If there are immediate medical needs, patients should access care at their local hospitals.  Patients will be notified by phone/text messages, through our social media channels and via myMDAnderson.

Also, TXDOT has requested that people stay off roads for several days, and to call them for all travel to confirm roadways are safe.

Big fella, We are near colonial park, just outside of Weslayan and University. There were some lower lying streets in the area like West Point that were not passable, but the yards are ok.

Yes, has an ax , food, and water. We are trying to get help to him but he might be there for a while. Had about 3 feet of water in house so don't think is a life or death situation just getting out of the water
