There's also folks in that Facebook post saying that they had similar flooding to their homes in the past and their electricity was still on but who knows what's true anymore.

Does Southampton seem to be draining okay? Hear anything from folks in Southgate?

Stagg, I live on sunset across from Rice but we've actually been holed up at the omni since thursday night so I couldn't tell you. I called my neighbor and he's been at the zaza since friday so neither of us really knows whats going on at this point, but if the colonial park area is good right now as aggieland said then I feel fine bc we used to live over there on byron a few years ago and that was a horrible area when it rained.

Would the electricity still be on if water was that high?

Last year I was in a house that had water up to my knees. The power was still on. We had to flip the breaker to turn it off.

This is flooding of Biblical proportions. This will very likely be the most devastating flooding event in the US since records have been kept.

Friends in Southgate (Watts) said water is halfway up yard. Without power for 24 hours though.

Damn. Was worried about that. Southgate floods pretty terribly. Hope the water stays out of their house.

Wow. Sadly there are probably people yelling at airline employees and complaining about their "inconvenience".

The thing is just not moving at all, and is still impressively organized for being over land so long.

ETA: Just saw you said Jersey Village. Will keep an eye out on FB for friends who may be in that area.

The lights probably are on because the facility has a generator.

Tell them to take papers and pictures. Furniture can be replaced. It's not worth the risk to his health to move much. God speed.

Oh and food and water. How's your moms health??? OH and take their meds upstairs wtih them!
