HRRR precipitable water values are high all throughout the morning. There's no shortage of moisture at all.. high is over 1.5, over 2" is extremely high.
The values aren't how much rain is falling, or will fall, It shows the amount of water above one spot in the atmosphere. Example, a PW value of 2.8 means if you condense all the moisture over a spot in one moment it would be 2.8", but rainfall amounts will be higher cause rain isn't instant, it falls over a period of time, and you're not getting rain just from that one column, you're getting rain from the convergence of all of the moisture.

Thanks guys, I don't know much about Houston, I usually ask my wife cause she's from there, but she's sleeping... so if I relay information from twitter, for the most part I have no idea where these locations are or if conditions are relatively normal during flood events.

I'm outside the loop. I think the people getting in their attics are north of us. Been talking to friends to the west of us. They are getting a break right now, looks like we should be getting that break soon. By break, I mean not as much rain.

just moved to this apartment (couple blocks behind Buc-ee's) couple months ago.

The guys at Space City Weather said that the worst of it was going to be Saturday night into Sunday early afternoon. I sure hope they are right.

Ugh. This is eerily remniscent of last year. I truly feel for all of y'all flooding right now.
It's surreal to just watch the water rise and rise and rise and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it.
Hope those stuck there have made preparations to save the important things you'll need. I know the rest is just stuff, but it's heartbreaking to see all of it piled up in a heap by the road.
Stay safe as you can and i'm sure the TD community will come together and help y'all in whatever way we can.

Stay strong, Texas. Just remember, there's only one thing that never stops. And that's time. This rain will end, might not be today, or tomorrow, but it will end and y'all will get through this.
