Good luck my friend. Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Will they let y'all back in tomorrow? And how old are your kids? Last time we evacuated mine were like 18, 13 and 8. We actually sent them with my inlaws to North Louisiana .. husband wanted to stay "close" and I couldn't let him be alone.
And yes I can imagine it's a good thing to have a place to get it out, sort of therapeutic.

Do you know of the Golden Needle Quilt shop on N. Allen St? My aunt owned it. She is in el campo now and doesn't have word on it or her house. Fearing she lost both

TxFool - I have in laws on the bay too. Thanks hey are anxious to get back and start picking up the pieces. Heard anything about getting back into Rockport from Tivoli? Are they letting people back in?

Know the area, Old Rockport, that area was hit pretty hard. If we make it in I'll try to get by there.

I'm afraid 35 between Holiday Beach and Tivoli will be under water, I've seen it closed several times for high water with less rain than we've seen. Going to check in the morning as that's our preferred route, I think we'll have issues trying to get through Rockport from the west.

What we learned from Katrina was 15' up was not high enough. Rebuild 20' up.

Also, tire plug kits, fix a flat and spares. Can't tell you how many tires we went thru after Katrina.

Stay aware. Not only are the rainfall rates absurd, everything has some soon coming off on the gulf.
