Klark do you have flood insurance? Even if you do if water gets too close get every pot and tall cup/glass that you can and put the feet of your furniture in them. It worked for some last year here in my area in La that flooded.

Pick up the computer off of the floor if you have a hard drive for a desktop and pick up what you can out of closets .. throw it in trash bags on top shelves of closets and on beds.

Don't know if any of that helps but maybe? I had one friend who when they saw water rising, they started cutting scrap lumber into blocks and were able to elevated all of their furniture which at least helped with not having to replace everything.

I can't speak for Houston proper, but here in Clear Lake we've had light rain pretty much all day spare some heavy stuff this morning. All total about 4 inches since midnight.

Is anyone still checking the new model runs? Official forecast doesn't include this but if this trend continues, the Louisiana meteorologists will begin to raise eyebrows.
