Agreed. My folks have one and fortunately live close by. Why people wait until the day of the storm to go buy a damn generator is just strange.
They're the same people who don't ever change their windshield wipers until it rains

Does it look like it's slowing down? Am I the only one seeing that? Was that projected before landfall?

generac has been one of the best investments that ive put into my house. it did cost 14k but they come out monthly and do a spot check and before known big storms they will come out and do a thorough check, cleaning, and maint.

We should be getting some pretty regular recon updates shortly. Plane currently in the storm and another just took off from Mobile.
ETA - Biloxi, not Mobile.

Those jogs are serious business now.
They are for wind threat. A little jog N or W totally changes the game for areas around Corpus Christi. The rain impact though, doesn't really matter.
Looking at the CC radar, looks like the outer EW is finally eating the inner one. Hopefully it'll need another EWRC right before landfall.

944 extrapolated pressure. We'll need to see the dropsonde. Surface wind speeds don't appear to have increased.

My wife keeps asking me how bad it's going to get in Baton Rouge: she ask at least one time every hour. Will be a long week.

This is a cool visual. I don't know exactly what the hell this is
, but it looks like it's winding up for a serious slap as it draws closer to TX.
