You ever notice Pat's title is "Chief Forecaster"? It's because he's not a meteorologist and has no clue what he's talking about.

I realize this but he takes the one model that shows this thing dying in Mexico. Im sure he is told what to show by someone higher up

That's understandable, since you don't often see storms hit such a road block and get kicked back out to sea. That being said, the models are getting to be very consistent with that resolution, so doubt it at your own risk.

18z still brings Harvey further inland than Euro on first landfall.

18z GFS is pretty much in lock step with the 12z GFS through 72 hours. Shows Harvey penetrating as far inland as George West before it starts its loop.

I can't stress enough how bad the GFS has been. When the Euro starts to show something similar to the GFS then I will believe it. And when you have the EURO and NHC both agreeing so closely, you have to go with those two. No way can you side with the GFS at this point.

Looking at the spaghetti models on the first page it seems they don't think it goes back to sea, but just juts over to central la and into oblivion. Are there other models that show it going to sea, reorganizing and shitting on Louisiana?

That scenario is, but remember it's a model.

It's just a possible path. The gist here though is the more into Texas it gets, the better it is for us in La.

I'm beginning to wonder if "good" and "Louisiana" should ever be included together in a sentence.

About to get the frick out. Mandatory evacs in the small towns. Lines out the arse for sand bags and boards at this point. I've boarded up what I can, getting sand bags now. I'm hoping to be out of here by midnight.

The hotel reservation in San Antonio doesn't look much better.

when is next Euro run?

Trend has been getting worse for LA with each model set. If it continues on next run I'm going to start prep.
