I understand that certain groups are racial based groups, which is the difference, and I understand we don't have "white alliance groups"
I get that
But we have those and that isn't changing. Every university has those groups.
Other than that, it is exactly the same.

I support segregated graduations
One ceremony for grads that have respectful families who adhere to requests that cheering and applause be held until the end so everyone's name can be heard.
Another ceremony for families who want to jump up and yell and cheer loudly when their grad's name is called so the next 2-3 people's names can't be heard

I think you have hit the nail squarely on the head - a up vote for you.

except that if you had a group and raised your own money, you could have a special separate ceremony too

Would that apply to a group based on white skin ?
Posted on 5/12/17 at 7:37 am to NIH
I doubt you could get a group established solely based on "white skin"
but that is a completely different topic and something you might want to take up with every single university, not just Harvard

The "Reading is Fundamental" truck must've skipped many of yalls neighborhoods.
This isn't a separate graduation ceremony. It's an extra graduation ceremony.

Look, either people want to mix or they don't, but don't come off all superior and shite and throw rocks at the south for its sins of the past, and then turn around some 50 years later and try and justify segregated graduations.

Does this mean there will be no air horns this year?

Honesty is fundamental.
You're right. It's just a special black only extra graduation ceremony.

I imagine if you dig deep enough, white people are behind this.

No. There will still be plenty of people doing the Dougie and throwing dabs at the real graduation ceremony.
You see, the black only graduation is an extra graduation.

As long as they offer separate but equal they should be good. Amirite?
Posted on 5/12/17 at 8:06 am to Asianrice
Don't feel like reading all the comments, but this line is important.
So they are having an additional graduation it seems. It's all still ridiculous...but just a little less so I think.

So they want equality and inclusion...........until they don't
