I got a a $500 ticket in Virginia for parking in a HC spot once. I was there for less than 30 minutes and had no clue it was HC. There was no sign and the marking on the ground was extremely faded. I never paid it, but was shocked out the amount and how quickly they pounced. To reiterate what someone else said, being black must be a handicap, because it seems like they all have one and they are nearly all full of shite.

Squatted trucks and suvs are gaining ground

. I refuses to park in a HC spot no matter how far away I am. It’s disrepectful and makes me more of a worthless person
Sorry, there's just a large entitled group that is the complete opposite mindset of this and feel you should be respecting them all the time.

I think black people must get an automatic HC Card when they get their DL
I still have one from when I was on oxygen all of the time, but at least in Texas, once you get a blue handicap tag, to renew it, you simply show up with it and they give you a new one. It's very easy to abuse the system. A doctor has to fill out a easy questionnaire to get started. My doctors just told me to fill it out and they would sign it. Most don't want to waste their time on it.

We are already super short handed on cops and there are literally thousands of parking lots in EBR alone. Enforcing this has become a logistic impossibility
People bitch when cops don't enforce minor things like parking or driving in the left, but flip the frick out when they do, and say shite like "why aren't they out stopping REAL crime"

Handicap parking is really a honor based system, not an enforced legal requirement. Probably the right approach since individuals are involved, the space is marked and visible. Folks that have no honor will abuse it.
Hotel reservations for handicapped rooms are a whole next level of criminal fraud. Disabled folks commit to a Hc room well in advance with very specific requirements like being able to get the wheelchair close enough to the crapper to transfer. Majority of hotels will put one grab bar in shower and claim they meet ada requirements, discount travel agencies out right lie about connecting with a hand cap room

vehicles in the HC spots do not have legit hangtags.
A disabled vet tag alone does not qualify you to park in a handicapped spot in Texas (you can have gotten the tag for hearing loss, etc.) Never ticketed or towed, though.

No HC stickers and they know it will not be enforced, especially at WalMarts and convenience stores. It's a pet-peeve of mine to see a perfectly health person park in a handicap spot.
They'll get out perfectly fine and walk the 20 yards or so to the electric carts.
Then they'll fill that cart with Pop Tarts, grape soda, frozen pizza, etc.
All on your taxpayer dime, too.

This is not true. If your license plate has a wheelchair logo on it that is legal in every state.

Have an ex girlfriend that was a property manager at a condo. Board president has two disabled adult children. If you didn't have handicap sticker and was in a spot your arse was getting towed immediately. They did not play

My mom had one, but instead of using it, I would drop her off at the door, park in a normal spot, then pick her up at the door. When she passed and I transferred the car to my name, the lady axed if I wanted to also renew the handicap tag. I said no.

Handicap
The term "handicapped" is widely considered outdated and offensive by the disability community. Many find it dehumanizing or associate it with historical stereotypes.
The most universally respectful and accepted terms are "handicapable," "differently abled," or simply "special needs". To communicate inclusively, focus on direct, neutral language that respects the individual's preference and personhood.
