No I have not, but I have not needed my car insurance either. I hope that I never have to use either. However I have both because you just never know when you need it.

Do not have one. Have thought about getting one but don’t think I would get any satisfaction from using it. I’d much rather just physically overwhelm or beat the shite out of someone. That’s actually satisfying.

The only times I've needed it were times I didn't have one and was robbed. Granted, one of the times I was taken completely by surprise and probably wouldn't have had time to draw it.

Where I live now I'm far more likely to need it to protect myself from javelinas but I still carry probably 75% of the time.

That’s one thing I loved about SV. Every time I went to Fry’s there were at least 5-6 people open carrying

Yes, I did not have to shoot a human with it but I used it when my elderly neighbor found a rattlesnake in his tool shed.

"Needed" is a loaded term TBH.

Had a case where we went back to check on the wife's house that was on the market after we got married and she moved in to mine. Back door was open. Signs of a squatter were prevalent. I went through the door and announced I was armed. Had the squatter come out from the back room with his hands up. Called the local police, and turns out he had a felony record for assault.

And yes, I'm expecting the "but he could have been armed too and just came out and shot you!!!" I'm not an idiot. I didn't just stand in the doorway. I actually paid attention in IOBC.

First time I saw this video I was like, "is this the first time this idiot ever shot a gun?"

I’ve shot two pit bulls and numerous snakes with mine.

I am an extremely minimal EDC carry person and to me a gun is a PITA to bother with so I still bank on my lifestyle and situational awareness.

I totally understand. I hate the feeling of bulk. I sometimes carry a pistol but it’s a subcompact. On Reddit I see that dudes are carrying around pretty big pistols then putting optics and flashlights on them. Like how is that possibly comfortable enough to wear regularly? And where on earth are you hanging out that you would need a flashlight on your gun?

Once and I did not have to pull the trigger. I talked to the police and it became a non issue.

I’ve drawn my weapon on a human one time when a drunk bloody dude banged on my door at 2:30AM about 2 years ago. He had ill intention but he was hurt and when he saw me round the corner with him at the end of my sights he hightailed it. I called the cops and he was wanted for other break ins in the area. They caught him about 2 blocks from my house. That’s the only issue I’ve ever had.

The biggest heaviest thing I can carry is a 3in 1911 like a colt Defender or my current carry a SA Ronin EMP.

I don’t see how people carry Glock 19s with lights and lasers and extended mags….insanity.

ETA The hardest thing for me is the extra mag…..I’ve tried to do it but the damn mag holders are so damn pointy!!!
