No it wasn't. They were bleeding out on the floor. Every minute counts because some of those kids and teachers may have still been alive if those cops stormed in front the start.

While I agree to an extent, many of them were probably suffering from wounds similar to the one the guy in the video posted earlier today got when he decided to bring his neck to a knife fight. That dude literally died before he even realized how serious he had been injured. Man bled out and died within 5 seconds.

Lucky he didn't get access to additional classrooms during all of this.
Being a cop is a tough profession and I don't think many on this board could handle it (putting your life on the line everyday not knowing what you will have to be asked to do in a given situation), but with all the firepower and manpower that was on scene they should have confronted the shooter much earlier, I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Before you criticize though, ask yourself if you were a cop in that situation and would you put your life on the line in any situation that calls for it?

Bro they were calm enough to check their cell phones and get fricking hand sanitizer squirts while a dude 10ft away was firing rounds at children

That was pretty hardcore, but at least one of the students and one of the teachers survived this. I hope they're sleeping thinking about how half of those kids might not have bled out and were treated at the hospital say 15 minutes after the shooting started rather than over 77 minutes after the shooting started.

The first round of officers got in there very quick and realized that they were out gunned. I can kinda understand that
But why did it take another 20 minutes for other officers to arrive and even more time pass as they’re just standing in the hall

There's no way to know that.

I used to be a firefighter/EMT and you'd be amazed at the people I've seen survive things that they were basically dead when EMS started lifesaving procedures on them.

They dropped the ultimate ball in this incident.

Seems like the best argument we've seen for arming and training teachers. If they cannot trust cops with training, armor, tactics and heavy weapons to come get a shooter out of their face, they at least have a fighting chance when staring down some crazy bastard's muzzle in an instant.

I can say with 100% certainty that if I were armed with a long gun and small children were being murdered by a lone gunman, I'd take action. The dishonor alone would drive me to suicide. I don't pretend to know what I'd do in a war situation, but I know what I'd have done here.

He had a rifle. They were armed as well (a mixture of rifles and pistols). How were they outgunned?

Or at least cite them for loitering. Because that's what they did.

Really? You just said being a cop is a tough profession and now you are asking if everyone was a cop would they put their life on the line? Its kids. Are you telling me your natural reaction wouldn't be to go save them, when you have the firepower?

There was an unarmed mother who got in and got her kids. They seemed to know exactly where he was. They should have immediately went in, with the shield in front then took him out. Well, I should say this. Its easy to say exactly how they should have did it, I really don't know what would have been the best way to go in, but they should have immediately gone for their target. But naaa. they ran while blood was pouring out of those kids.

How were five trained cops with multiple ARs and pistols outgunned by one teenager with an AR?

When the video ended, I realized I watched with my mouth wide open. It's simply gut wrenching. I wonder if the door was unlocked to that classroom or if he shot the lock off?

This article is heartbreaking as well.

Officer had a clear shot before the massacre.

quote:

TEXAS – Before the massacre began at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, a law enforcement officer was prepared to take out the gunman but did not take the shot because he did not receive permission from a supervisor, a new report found.

“A reasonable officer would conclude in this case, based upon the totality of the circumstances, that use of deadly force was warranted,” the report from the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center found.
