he already said in the OP that the guy was slurry before he bought the beer. Seems to me that the guy was already drunk, bought more beer, and was already drinking again as he pulled away and headed towards the school.

If this was in one of the nicer areas of Houston, I don't have any real frame of reference. But if it was anything like BR, there's NO WAY the police would follow up on a call like that. They don't give two shits.

Maybe if it was a slow day for the EBRP Sheriff's Dept, I could see it. But the BRPD would have hung up after you called and laughed.

Good job but it wasn't a citizen's arrest.

Good for you.

If people who drink and drive only wrecked and injured themselves I would not care, but it seems they always walk away from a terrible crash and the innocent victim pays the price.

I hope he gets arse raped with garden weasel in jail.

Stopped to get gas. Walked in to grab a snack and noticed the guy in front of me was somewhat slurry and buying a 12 pack.

Returned to my car and continued to pump my gas When I noticed the guy in his car busting open the 12 pack, cracking one open, then proceeding to drive off.

This is why I break all the gas pump flaps that allow you to walk away while you pump. Keeps people from being so nosy.

One does not automatically drive unsafely while drunk.

I could call the cops in BR and tell them a Winn Dixie just blew up and it would take an hour for them to respond.

This belongs firmly under r/thathappened

Thanks for that.
I know a few families that have been wripped apart due to the actions of drunk drivers. Anyone who disagrees with your actions needs to spend 5 minutes with a teen aged girl who has permanent brain damage and can't even feed herself due to a drunk driver.

I believe the word you're looking for is proceeded. Unless you left your gas pump unattended while pumping, how dare you...

Only on the OT can you get downvoted for being anti-drunk driving. Amazing people here.

I really wish you wouldn’t had done what you did. Next time just go say something instead of calling the cops.

good on you, my insurance premiums are high enough as it is.
A kid in my family was coming back home after the Central prom with his girlfriend and they were hit by a drunk driver. He just got out of the ICU yesterday and he dam near lost his leg
