Worst part up there is that it is considered normal to drive on the shoulder at highway speeds.
Make sure you look over your right shoulder when exiting the interstate…

Idk. I live in Haughton and worked downtown Shreveport until my retirement last May. I can count on three fingers the number of times construction or traffic delayed my commute to work and back. It's really not that bad. Hopefully theyll be done within a couple of months.

If the tallest Baw in your paternal history is 5’8 you’d probably drive angry at the world too

Lafayette is where you go if you want to watch a pathetic class of elites waste every single dime you pump into the system.

This right here. I've spent some time with New Orleans "elites." They're old-school, blue blood, they've got theirs and there's plenty to go around.
I've spent some time with BR "elites". A bunch of drunks who feel like they can do anything with impunity. The law doesn't apply to them.
Lafayette "elites"are truly pathetic in comparison. They think they're top tier, but they wouldn't sniff BR or NOLA's jockstrap. Their focus is on their family and friends making the money. Their flex is getting your garbage picked up twice a week, or making sure to put in a good word at that private school. They're small time.

Lafayette was laid out by a drunk man on a drunk horse.

The layout is complicated by the fact that the Vermilion splits it. There are 3 or 4 main roads running parallel and 3 or 4 running across the river. If you're going more than a few blocks you will probably be on one of those roads.

As for the drivers, well, that's a problem with no solution.

This is pretty close. I am friends with one of the city's engineers who worked on the J-turn idea. He is drunk most of the time I see him.

That interstate passing through Atlanta is genuinely the craziest driving I have ever seen.

I've been around this country, I've never seen people drive more aggressively and with blatant disregard for traffic flow. Even in BR.

Have you never been to Houston or DC? LA?

Get out more.

100%

It was even worse before the Camilla bridge was built.

Travel 60 miles to the east and you'll rethink that

Baton Rouge, and maybe Orlando, is the worst traffic I've dealt with on the Gulf Coast. Baton Rouge makes Houston look awesome.

I used to complain about I-10 and 20, but since traveling g for work I have a new appreciation. I-40 between Little Rock and Me phis is the absolute worst. The road itself is not in great shape, and the amount of 18 wheelers is terrible. You can get caught in a clog of trucks for thirty miles not able to go over 55. It’s terrible.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but there are no longer any orange barrels between Vidor and Orange. The 30-year project has finally finished.

Agree except in my opinion it's traveling westbound from Slidell to Denham Springs. Once you get to BR it settles down.

The growth south of the RR is where the lack of grid becomes apparent.

Verm cutting through the middle doesn't help.
