No doubt this is correct, but not all real human relationships are equal. Sometimes the best remaining option is to pick the substitute since the primary can't get its shite together. Real human relationships can be positive or they can be negative. The substitute is choosing to opt out altogether and the guy with the doll has that right to do so.
