Gun shot in the air - How long does it take for the bullet to fall back to ground?

Trying to see if I can hear a gun shot early in that NOLA cyclist shooting video.

Depends on caliber and angle in which it was shot.

Too many unknown variables. Well, I guess just really two. You would need to know the angle of the shot, and the bullet speed.

Depends on the type of gun, bullet and the level of gravity at the place where you shoot.

Angle, caliber, powder load and vertical or horizontal grip of pistol are all factors that must be considered.

Depends somewhat on muzzle velocity although terminal velocity plays a larger role.

Don't forget the bird density in the area.

Muzzle velocity, caliber of the round, and angle of the shot and you can be given a decent approximation.

You realize there are a million variables here? Trajectory, projectile weight, velocity, wind, etc. There isn't a set time.

the level of gravity
what is that?

Gravity, or gravitation, is a natural phenomenon by which all things with mass are brought toward (or gravitate toward) one another, including planets, stars and galaxies.
It's what makes the bullet fall down. Kinda like the opposite of what the gun does. LINK

You're not real smart, are ya?

the higher you go into the atmosphere, the less their is a force of gravity on the object traveling through it. So as the bullet gets higher, the is less pressure slowing it down. Ballistics calculators take into effect the height above see level and barometric pressure when figuring mils or MOA for scope adjustments. Hence why baseballs flew out of Coors Field in Denver better than anywhere else in the majors.

45 seconds on average. Not 5 seconds not 5 minutes but anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute depending on type.

Windage
Yes wind can effect gravity but not as much as most people think.

Does the bullet have better or worse MPG now?

Use these:
Distance=v1*t+1/2*a*t^2
And
v2=v1+a*t
Distance=v1*t+1/2*a*t^2
And
v2=v1+a*t
