Gulf Shores Alcohol Ban
Posted by Clark W Griswold

This is the second year now that Gulf Shores has banned alcohol on the beach for a two month window to discourage Spring Breakers. I gotta go that way for work in a few weeks and I was curious if Orange Beach had any band or if it was still cool. Don't wanna get a ticket for having a few beers on the beach with my wife.

Don't be stupid and put your booze in a cup. You'll be fine.

As long as it's in an obscure container and you aren't acting a fool, I don't see how they'd get you for it.

I'm no expert, but I don't think they're gonna mess with older people about drinking beers on the beach

They're not going out there to ticket a middle-aged dude and his wife. It's for the college students pounding pabst and playing beer pong on the beach.

I'm sure there will be lots of bands playing...its Spring Break after all...

It appeared to be "selectively enforced" last year when we were down there.
They didn't bother the family crowds with their drinks tucked away in tumblers, at least in my experience.

You'd think spring break would be one of their peak times for business, and they'd want to be a little less restrictive. Although, I guess people are free to get as drunk as they want in their beach house. But, still.

banning beers by responsible drinkers on a beach is unamerican.

You can have alcohol at a hotel or condo beaches, but no glass containers. No alcohol at all on state beaches until spring break is over.

It's not. They sell themselves on a family vacation spot and do not like the spring break crowd. Orange beach doesn't have a ban my sister lives there.

blame it on the dumbass kids, we were as wild as anyone back in the day but had enough common sense to know when to show a little discretion

When we booked a condo there for a family vacation, they gave us a discount for not being pesky spring breakers

They give that same "discount" to everyone.
