Popular Science and Bassmaster as a kid.

The only time I saw Highlights was at the dentist office. Therefore, I hated it. Weekly Reader was a break from the drudgery of class. The teacher would let us read it for 20 or 30 minutes. We got a break from her, she got a break from us. Win/Win.
