The bottom line is MId City Government st's been booming for years now and still is. No end in sight. So yes you've still got sometimes major traffic headaches but it's also a destination thoroughfare now. People are gonna use it to get to all the places they wanna be. The diet is at least slowing people down and making it less dangerous to travel. I'd be willing to bet there's already been a significant decrease in accidents.

The weekly bad accidents on the stretch between Acadian and around Calandro's are over. The days of poles being knocked down during lunch (not late night drunks) are over. Apart from the road construction, the traffic flows evenly and paces better now that a turn lane is in place. The time it takes to cross Foster seems less than before. Yep the traffic flow is much better now than the previous design. There’s still traffic and there always will be but that’s just something you deal with living in a city. This might be the only project I can think of that BR has successfully executed that focused on the future and required thinking outside the box

Glenmore is a through street with way more traffic than it should have. I learned that the hard way.

2nd hand rap used to be a problem for those on glenmore, but i guess we got accustomed to it. or maybe the speed humps sent the hoopties through a different way.

Not only are they opening a bar across from that school, but it will feature classic arcade games.

An arcade bar is being planned for Government Street in the former Pop Shop Records space, across the street from French Truck Coffee.

Baton Rouge-based architect Steve Maher of Ritter Maher Architects received a permit Wednesday to start construction on the nearly 3,600-square-foot building. Plans call for the front 2,000 square feet to be renovated for arcade and bar use, according to the permit. Maher was unable to be reached for more information before this morning’s deadline.

The building, which has been on the market for lease, has sat vacant since Pop Shop Records moved into a space on South Acadian Thruway in 2018. The record shop, previously Atomic Pop Shop, had operated in the Government Street space since 2011.
