Landry is a classic coonass. He's completely unaware of his own stupidity while believing that everyone else is the dumbass.

Louisiana is run so badly and by such massively stupid people in the next 50 years it may require the federal government to force Texas or some other state to actually absorb it.

More likely outcome is a foreign country buys up as much of Louisiana as it can.

Impossible to fix

At this point you cant get elected governor in LA without trial lawyer lobby behind you

Well he's already in office. Maybe it'll take a termed out governor to do this though.

I have a feeling there was some kind of notation that was missed, but I can tell you that my insurance dropped by almost 50% when I moved from Louisiana to Mississippi.

what laws do they have in Mississippi that they don't have in Louisiana?
For that matter, laws do they have in Texas that they don't have in Louisiana?

You hear about massive lawsuit judgments in Texas. I don't know what their insurance rates are like. Granted I don't hear a lot of that in Mississippi but then I don't know what goes on over there. There are not that many people in Mississippi anyway.

So, my question- what is it about their laws, that is so different from ours?

There are limits on personal injury lawsuits.

Property insurance is also much cheaper in Mississippi. Less flooding, lower crime.

Landry, McKernan, Bart, Laborde, Earles, Dudley, DeBosier, Womack, Gee….they can all eat a bag of dicks. Incompetence in our governor’s mansion bought by narcissistic, greedy personal injury lawyers who don’t give 2 shits about our absurd auto insurance rates. Just pandering to the poor to fill their pockets on these frivolous lawsuits.

I actually hope all auto insurance companies leave Louisiana. Press the state and leadership against the wall…until they ban PI advertisements on television and on the roadside, no auto insurer will do business in LA.

frick all those guys.

He doesn’t understand capacity or supply demand. Carriers don’t want to do business in La. As a result the capacity is low. This drives cost up. It’s basic economics. You have to pass laws that make it more attractive for auto carriers to do business in this state. You can’t simply force rate reductions on the ones who do business here. They will leave , further reducing capacity. Some commercial entities are having trouble finding more than one carrier that will actually bid on their business.

Insurance carriers want to avoid large losses and Louisiana is fertile ground for the large settlements and nuclear judgements. Carriers see this and avoid us for other areas that don’t brag about nuclear verdicts.

Every lawyer commercial brags about how much they get for their clients. Just recently there was a 400million dollar verdict for a scaffold contractor. How does that make sense under any condition.

Who can blame insurors for avoid our state?

I keep hearing this temp tag thing, and it was a thing in the past, but last time I bought a used car in La from a dealership, they registered my temp so I assumed that it could basically be run basically like a regular license plate.

Also part of the uninsured problem is rates double almost everyone else. Chicken meet egg. Which I don't even understand increasing my collision or liability because of uninsured drivers when they don't cover that anyway. Uninsured is paid for seperately.

Plaintiffs attorneys are a net loser on this state as it just robs from current companies/citizens and does nothing to bring in outside money. They are money vampires. They also serve to make everything more expensive, hurts property values, and are a general nuisance.

True, but LAMAR loves them!

As part of a change of the rules on advertising, I think dollar amounts should be forbidden in advertisements OR they have to explicitly state what injuries the smiling happy person suffered that necessitated an award of $500,000
