Why is the advocate reporting that gyms statewide are closed? I thought that was just NOLA nonsense?

Next time we just shut the borders ASAP.
That was the big mistake. You shut borders for foreigners, completely, and for Americans returning from overseas you have medical teams waiting at customs to do full checks and forced quarantines if need be.
It would’ve sounded draconian before this, but who wouldn’t choose that over a months long country shutdown?

Wouldn’t have worked. First cases in China were reported late November. Gov. Put a gag order on them until late January.
China allowed 100s of millions of people freely fly in and out of their country until Chinese New Year was over.
Shutting the borders would have done nothing. It was too late.

I know I walked into anytime and the manager was telling us the governor ordered them to close and showed an Advocate story. I showed her the louisiana.gov link and she said she would check.

Louisiana has much better farming, fishing, hunting, shipping, commercial marine industries, an intercoastal canal, as well as multiple major rivers that are essential to the country
Mississippi doesn’t really offer a damn thing except for some waterfront property to set up a few shipyard and store laid up oil field equipment
