You can also turn left before the pumping station and you go by Laurel St bakery and come up past the two burnt up hair salon buildings with apartments on top.
I don't know about scared. I guess different folks, different strokes. I have a HANO contract and lately have been spending hours a week in the former Magnolia, Calliope and St.Bernard. All redone and renamed but the same clientele. I never really feel threatened at all.
The only places my hair on my neck rises is off Dowman and Chef or deep in Algiers because I know I'm all on my own. Central City and Holly grove are being gentrified.
I wasn't raised to fear black people. Just be aware of your surroundings and wait 3 seconds before you go on a green light.

You are basically trying to live a normal life in a 3rd world environment.
GTFO of the shithole before something worse happens to you.

I think two school kids were shot at that intersection waiting for a bus a couple of years ago.

I’ll give you benefit of the doubt, but your stories often seem exaggerated. You also never followed up on the car break in story after a few people asked what block it occurred on. Oversight maybe, idk.

First your car gets broken into and now this.
Maybe that’s why that other poster thought I was full of shite

Why would I tell y’all where I live specifically? I saw that request and ignored it.

If you are telling the truth, man you've got some bad luck with your car

I know what it is. It is almost paid off and I had just set up a High yield savings account as well as another brokerage account to put all the car money into to build some more wealth once the car was paid off in December. I bragged about it too much to my dad about how excited I was to be doing that and not blowing it like I imagine most people my age would. The gods struck me down from my arrogance

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. That's actually the perfect example of what I was talking about earlier - the definition of crackhead-type behavior in that general area (though worst-case scenario to be fair).
The guy apparently went into Cajun Seafood restaurant for a shrimp plate, then stepped outside and without saying a word started shooting at three kids (one of middle school age) who didn't even know the guy. And the shooter was out on bail for some other drug crime. Luckily, all three kids survived (two had two miss their senior football season from what I read). Dude never had an explanation for the shooting.
Went in for a shrimp plate, left with a 30+ year sentence... "Come back now, ya hear..."

I've been hit by someone wayyy too many times (I believe I'm up to 7 now). Only 1 time did I have an issue with fault because they were all clearly rear end accidents. But in the one situation, which was still a rear end collision, The police statement had no bearing on fault. They can assign fault and write a ticket, but they weren't there. They didn't see it. Its by no means a deciding factor.
Was a big problem for me since the guy's insurance wouldn't accept fault unless he specifically accepted fault, even though I presented the police report. And the guy vanished until threats of lawsuit came up when I got fed up.

You are going to get sued for personal injury Bro, dude has 4 witnesses who will all give written statements.
He will ask for $7,000 and your insurance company will pay it because it costs more than that to fight it.

Well we both have the same insurance company so would that throw a wrench in that at all?
ETA: I actually woke up today with the side of my body that was hit in the crash hurting as well as some back pain. Not to mention the stress of the whole thing.
