Golf. Lowest score after 18 rounds wins. Played with full deck and 2 joker's.

We play this at my in-laws house all the time.

It’s actually fun

Spoons

My kids love it, and it’s fun for all.

And it will teach them poker faces, bluffing, etc

Get a Ski-Bo deck. My 7 year old son loves it.

Really gets way more into it than he did traditional games like Go Fish and Battle and even specialized games like Uno.

Never heard of this one. How do you play it?
i i think this is one of those games with lots of variations but this is how we played

you ante (we did 25 cents) into the pot

you get dealt 3 cards. this is round 1. 3s are wild.

everyone looks at their cards and you count 1, 2, and 3. on 3 you either drop your cards (if your hand sucks) or you hold (if your hand is good). if nobody else holds, you get a check. if somebody else holds, you secretly show each other your cards and the losing hand pays the balance of the pot to the winner

then you repeat with 2 more cards (5s are now wild b/c you are holding 5) and then another round with 2 more cards (7s are now wild, etc)

3 checks wins the game

if nobody has enough checks after the 7s round, you ante again and re-shuffle and deal out 3 to each player

as the pot grows, the "guts" of holding becomes much more intense/expensive. we used to cap it at $1 total antes (it was a drinking game in college at the time) but you can play no cap and it can get super intense

it is, by far, my favorite card game. it's very simple for people to learn and it gets very competitive

I forgot about this one. There were many fights caused by playing this game. If someone runs out of cards too fast, people question them and it snowballed from there.

Getting tired of go fish and battle. They are 6 and 8.
3 card poker.

I have twin 7 year old boys, they love it. I have poker chips from 15 years ago back in the day when we'd have home games, and they love playing tournaments with the chips.

Just use 3 cards so it's not super confusing, and you can do 3 card draw or stud, either way it works.

Play rap poker to teach him poker hands.

Each person is dealt five cards. Place the deck on the table and put one card face up next to the deck. player can take the face up card or draw a card, then has to discard a card on top of the face up pile and so on.

When you think you have the best hand you rap on the table with your knuckle and the other players each get one more turn.

Etc.
