He’s nothing more than a old bible beating hypocrite, plenty of them in southeast Louisiana and throughout the south. He was never the correct choice for AG and should be fired but we saw how that turned out last time Trump fired someone Democrats themselves were calling to be fired,

That is a legal fact mandated by the federal government.

You are a fricking young moron. Guess what young buck???? All of you ignorant young liberals WILL BECOME old conservatives. At least, those of you who have success and actually accomplish things in your lives. Old conservatives will never die -- those with any intelligence will naturally transition as the real world enlightens you.

If you are never a young liberal --- you have no heart. If you are never an old conservative --- you have no brain.
I am a young conservative, that’s why the GOP no longer has my support. There is nothing conservative about current day GOP agenda. Cutting taxes is great but you need to cut spending too and they are unwilling to make MEANINGFUL cuts to our budget and therefore increasing our national debt. Don’t even get me started on the tens of billions spent on a completely unsuccessful war on drugs/personal choices. Now they are fighting against states whose constituents have voted to legalized marijuana, this is literally the federal government acting against laws that states voted on so please tell me what is “conservative” about this. I’ll answer for you, there is nothing conservative about this other than giving out of touch 70 year olds a nice warm feeling that the bogeyman is gone.

Yeah, no one is taking that title from Ole Roy.

And while a lot of good jobs don't drug test - every job I've ever had (pharma/medical sales) drug tests for the initial hire. No follow ups after getting hired however. Unless you get in a wreck on work hours in the company car.

What's so stupid about that though?

Pot stays in your system a longer time than say an opioid. I could smoke pot tonight and get in a wreck at work 5 days later and THC might still show up in my system even though I would no longer have any intoxication. I could take an opioid for my degenerative disk disease and get in a wreck one hour later but as long as I have a valid prescription, I would "pass" the drug test. The company would never know I was "under the influence" of a pain killer because it would violate my health privacy.

The drug testing company calls you and says you tested positive for a prescription drug and they need a copy of your prescription. Call your pharmacy and give them permission to send it. Ta da! You "passed" the drug test. The company doesn't even see "tested positive for XXXX but provided prescription". All they see is "PASSED".

All prescription drugs that show on the panel - opioids, benzos, ADHD meds - will show as a clean test with a valid prescription.

The best way to change this law is to enforce it. Then maybe congress will address the issue. Simply not enforcing it strictly allows selective enforcement.
Write your congressman or senator and tell them what you think.

Anyone in red state who runs on pot will be crushed in primary by thugs like sessions.

Term limits ain't happening either. You really expect some 5 term committee chair to give that up?

AMEN.

There isn't a conservative party anymore.

GOP and Dems are different sides of the same uniparty coin and its a very socially and fiscally liberal coin.

If anything, the modern GOP is slight liberal and the modern Dems are hard-core liberal and moderately progressive.

Alot of older conservative still vote GOP out of habit, but they hardly know what they're voting for.

If enough conservatives are pushed out the GOP maybe we'll either see a surge of third party support or a change in political landscape of the parties.

Update:
quote:

DENVER — The U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado said Thursday there will be no immediate changes in marijuana enforcement after Attorney General Jeff Sessions rescinded a policy that paved the way for legalized pot to flourish in states across the country.

“Today the Attorney General rescinded the Cole Memo on marijuana prosecutions, and directed that federal marijuana prosecution decisions be governed by the same principles that have long governed all of our prosecution decisions,” U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer said.

“The United States Attorney’s Office in Colorado has already been guided by these principles in marijuana prosecutions — focusing in particular on identifying and prosecuting those who create the greatest safety threats to our communities around the state.

“We will, consistent with the Attorney General’s latest guidance, continue to take this approach in all of our work with our law enforcement partners throughout Colorado.”

It would be retarded. All information coming out points to Colorado making a great decision by legalizing it.
