I imagine all the legal states will have similar statements from their fed attorneys. It's just not feasible to attempt to shut down a regional industry that is already this established and benefiting state coffers to the degree that it is.

With that said, I just can not figure out what lil Beauregard is trying to do.

Sessions’ announcement will come just days after California joined states such as Colorado in permitting pot for recreational purposes. The drug will be legal for adults 21 and older, and residents will be allowed to grow up to six plants and possess up to an ounce of marijuana.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions plans to roll back an Obama-era policy that had allowed legal marijuana to thrive without federal intervention, Fox News confirmed Thursday.

You think Colorado is going to give up their billion dollar plus industry b/c of some dumbass who is bought out?

Useless arse Obama could have descheduled pot, but naw he took the easy milquetoast middle ground which leads to a shithead like Sessions doing this.

Never smoked. Smoking disgusts me.

But one day, pot brownie/cookie. One day you’ll be mine. Legally.

I’ll start a thread chronicling my panic attack. Lol

Jeff Sessions is all about states rights.

Unless it’s about weed. Or women’s rights. Or anything else that the Republican Party opposes. Then it’s IMPERATIVE that the federal government step in.

One would hope but buried in this news today was this little interesting bit of info -

Sessions uses executive authority to appoint interim U.S. attorneys

quote:

The districts where Sessions made interim appointments include New Jersey, where the nod went to Craig Carpenito, who represented Gov. Chris Christie during the Bridgegate scandal.

The others are Rhode Island, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern District of New York, the Eastern District and Western District of Louisiana, Minnesota, the Western District of Missouri, the Central District of California, the Eastern District of Washington, the Middle District of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan.

New Jersey - medical MJ
Rhode Island - medical MJ
New York - medical MJ
California - recreational and medical MJ
Washington - recreational and medical MJ
Florida - medical MJ

And look at the counties covered by the California and Washington districts.

Central District of California counties -

Riverside
San Bernardino
Orange
Los Angeles
San Luis Obispo
Santa Barbara
Ventura

Eastern District of Washington counties -
Adams
Asotin
Benton
Chelan
Columbia
Douglas
Ferry
Franklin
Garfield
Grant
Kittitas
Klickitat
Lincoln
Okanogan
Pend Oreille
Spokane
Stevens
Walla Walla
Whitman
Yakima

And if y'all don't think those picked by Sessions himself don't have orders about this - especially in places like Los Angeles, Orange County, and Spokane then I have some legal Alabama MJ to sell you.

as AG, he is tasked with enforcing laws currently on the books. Congress on the other hand, who could actually change the law, should be feeling serious heat on this.

This. I am in favor of medicinal marijuana and kinda on the fence about recreational use but Sessions is simply doing his job. Much like a cop who pulls you over for running a stop sign is just doing his. Congress is the real cowards here. They should at the very least move marijuana to a different schedule of drugs and acknowledge it has benefits.

I believe in states rights and think Sessions is an idiot for going this route. But, I think its a dangerous thing to give people what they want. I foresee an even greater lack of accumulation in individual wealth through a lack of investments made into retirement, home improvements, etc, in the areas its legal. At the state and local level its going to be booming from taxes and licensing. Individuals, on the other hand, will have what they feel is all that is necessary and forego investing in their future. I hope Im wrong but most Americans lives are already a shite-show so I believe there is some merit to my beliefs.

Doesn't HHS have the authority to do that without waiting for Congress?

Why do so many people wanna smoke pot anyway? To have such venom and anger at the AG for this ruling?

Pot only gave me an annoying cough. I never found that it relaxed me or made me chill or mellow. It just made me sleepy and tired

I don't get the love people have for pot. I really don't

Do you get the love that people have for freedom? Because I don't think that you do. You people are no better than fricking commies.

He's rescinding an illegal memo. You want the laws changed, get the laws changed. It's unethical as frick for an AG to tell his minions to enforce some laws and blatantly ignore others.

What in God's name are you even basing any of this on? There is nothing in your post that even resembles a logical thought where you argue your position with support or evidence. It's like people like you think that you can will the reality that you imagine into existence without any real cause or purpose. Your opinion is based off of nothing but unsupported lies that you were fed as children, and you never bothered to think critically through and realize that they have no consistent basis with the actual world that you met as an adult. It has to be a failure of the education system to teach you critical reasoning skills.
