I was a cook for Golden Corral waaaaaaay back in high school. Early 80's before it was an all you can eat bullshite. It was a solid steak house back then and was pretty respected by normal people

Then they set up the trough and the cows came to feed and turned it into shite

Golden Corral?

Always seems to leave a golden ring around the bowl from the butt bile.

If Covid did anything positive for me it has to be teaching me that most buffets are little more than garbage quality food, and I didn't miss them at all when they were closed down.

I like it occasionally, but it has a certain clientele that is difficult to share a buffet with.

I run from the buffet, not towards it

I used to go to Pizza Hut buffet once a year every December but covid seems to have wiped them out.

Yes sir, you and I think alike.

The one in McComb MS is phenomenal! Probably best place to eat in the universe!

To recap: it’s not good or clean but you get to have “desert.”

Great.

Isn't a corral the place where they keep animals?

This x1000.

Back in the '80s, I could destroy a trip to GC or Quincy's for a steak and some dessert a couple of times a week. None of us were fat then either, 'cept for a few old folks. Both of them were darned good middle class fare, nothing like them exists now.

Thank God you pointed out that I missed the extra “s” in dessert! That was a close one! Edited to make it clear what I was talking about!

There was this disgusting fat slob that used to work in the IT department with our sister company next door like 400 pounds. He would come over once a month and ask me if I wanted to go to lunch

No doubt that guy felt sorry for you and thought you needed the company.

Yeah, being a 400 pound slob isn’t great. But that story just makes him sound like an a-hole for being so negative about a fat guy trying to be friendly and asking him if wants to go get food.

My mom loved that place. She’d eat for hours. She was only 5’4” 110lbs but she grew up in the depression. She would wrap food in napkins and put it in her purse. I haven’t been there since she passed away in 2016.

We hit it for breakfast a couple times a year. Get there right when it opens and before all the heathens arrive. It's decent for what it is.

No it’s not. People wearing too much is why fat people are fat.
