Terrible idea. There are just some classes that are hard as frick. And that's on top of taking other classes.

That's stupid. Your kid gets good grades in high school, congrats. College is completely different and there are classes designed for you specifically to not get an A. Unless you want your daughter majoring in elementary education to get easy A's, change your tune

The comments about an arse whipping probably explains why we are #50 in education in the country as much as anything. LOL

I graduated from college. I know what it takes. There isn’t a class I ever took that I couldn’t get an A in if I applied myself.

And what was your major???

P chem, organic chem, anything above calculus I, the whole chemE curriculum, those classes are tough even for smart people. Bright hardworking students pray for Bs in classes like those. All it takes is one bad day to bomb one test, and your A is gone.

I thought you were talking about bribe money for their teachers.

Same here. Was excited about coming to see the going rates. Was disappointed that the thread was no different than a group of parents talking about the same subject in 1977 when I graduated high school. Nothing new. Some parents bribe kids for grades. Others ground kids, or take something dear to them away. My mom was a teacher. Guess who was lucky to have an older brother that tested our parents' boundaries?

If grades are above C, the going rate is no whooping.

Honestly

Oldest is autistic - Any day he gets home with clean underwear is a win

The two youngest I expect As and Bs. Any lower and punishments will be given.

My daughter is aiming for the top. It’s in her DNA and in her mentality. She wants to be the best.

Then you already know bribing her to make all A's has no bearing on how hard she works or the grade she earns.

So, are you dumb or lying?

Report card today, all A’s, lol. You fools sound like some of the parents around here, making excuses as to why little Johnny got a B because that’s his ceiling.

Expect mediocrity, get mediocrity. Demand excellence, equip your child to achieve, and get the results you prepared him/her for.

I just got a million dollar idea. Fake report cards.

Kids online send in a picture of their real report card they don’t want their parents to see. Pay online with 40 bucks. I photoshop a fake one and mail to their home address with their schools return address listed. Parents see the fake one I mailed.

Depends on the grade level they’re in. Whatever grade they’re in, thatshow many dollars they get for each A

Got an 8th grader, 3rd grader, and Kindergartener.

So for example, in 8th grade, the A’s are worth $8.
B’s - $7

Nothing for C’s and lower.

3rd grade. Same concept. $3 for A’s, $2 for B’s.

Kindergarten doesn’t receive grades yet.

But with the smaller kids, they’re all into Roblox and they’re happy with an ITune or Google Play card for rewards for anything.
