They'll clog the instruments!

Apparently this is how food is served now.

In the ISS the port on top connects to a nozzle that can precisely dispense the right amount of hot water.

Then you cut the top off with scissors and eat it.

In Artemis they add cold water, and place the pouches in a kind of suitcase heater.

No idea how you cut up and eat a steak in zero g though.

Get to work?

(I know where you are coming from though, I live on caffeine.)

I wonder though if the food is similar to what they did on Apollo where it was all engineered to be low residue foods so the astronauts really didn’t need to crap on the flight.

This might play with that. They don’t want to give them too much in the way of GI stimulants.

This was enough to stop the Florida Softball Game in Gainesville. Lived in Tampa Bay, always pulled over to see the launch. Working at Disney, left the job to get close enough to feel the ground shake several times. Now NASA charges for anyone to get close. Three years building a hotel at Disney was a great view. Especially for the Yankees that never saw anything like that.

Artemis toilet looks half decent. The seat was made like that to discourage people from going in there playing on they phone.

There’s a live stream on YouTube that shows the stats consistently. It’s really just like a cartoon of the ship flowing through the air, but it shows the mileage.

Imagine taking off with non working toilet and no heat for a six day trip.

Our government at work. Excuse me ….they didn’t build the capsule.

CNN is more worried about selling their stories & theories about the executive branch than on a first time in 50 years flight to the moon.

I'm hoping these networks show some sense of history coming to life by airing the TLI.

I'm curious about how the mission was designed. If Apollo didn't orbit after launch (spent long enough to grab the LEM and then straight to the moon), why are they doing this differently? Sticky for testing?

No beer? Canadian products? Vegetables and granola being more prevalent than steak? When did we let liberals into our space program

They are testing a ton of things during the low earth orbit and then parabolic (?) orbit, which allows them to easily return to earth if something goes wrong. If everything goes right, they burn to escape orbit and head to the moon.

Yes they just did a bunch of testing today. It won’t be like this for an actual lunar landing. Worked through some glitches, toyed around with manual flight controls, etc. They wanted to make sure that everything was still good while in earth orbit. Once they fire off the IPCS for the TLI burn, they are committed. The service module motor can make course corrections but it doesn’t have the legs to do an about face and bring them back.

BTW, for some context of that picture: where the camera is positioned is “down”

The tarp curtain you see actually leads to the floor of the capsule.

So the flight area is above the toilet, and your orientation is as if you are lying down.

Of course non of this matters in null-G
