It’s swan song will be when they decide there are no viable Kuiper belt objects eligible for examination.

They’ll then attempt to take photos of earth/solar system.

Reason for the timing is that it’ll probably destroy/damage the cameras as they have no shutters and will get hit by direct sunlight.

I keep hoping that they will find (1) more before the end, but I know the odds are long.

Nope but it does open you up for a set of irony of being no longer authentic with the next asteroid impact.

Head canon: the cheese stored in caves for food stamps came from the moon.

This has been great today. Just wish it was more than just us. No one really seems to care. It’s an afterthought on the news.

I wish people would just stop and look out for a day or two. Just spend some time looking outward instead of head down staring inward.

“Houston, Integrity, can you get someone researching 20 different superlatives from the ones I used to up my vocabulary for the briefing tomorrow, would be greatly appreciated.”

Heard the one guy on the crew say, I’ve just run out of adjectives to describe this.

Although technology has created this experience for us, unfortunately it has also created too many distractions for others.

Damn they are going on about it.

Basically just said it was more awe inspiring and they were grateful to be given to see it than going to the moon.

When watching the news of the day, the quote from Contact sums it up. Humans are capable of such wonderful dreams and such terrible nightmares.

I don't want this to end. What an absolutely amazing day. Easily the most memorable POSITIVE space event of my life.

I hope they captured those impact flashes they mentioned on camera. I’d like to see that.

Can you imagine that Apollo 13 was only a major event because it was nearly a catastrophe?

Its criminal. For Apollo 17 we spent like 24 hours boots on ground on the lunar surface and it was basically a non event.

Boy you can sure read up some shite about gas prices and war in Iran though
