Yep one of the coolest days to actually listen along as they described it. Other than being there yourself that was as close as we can get. Can't wait to see the HIgh Res video/photos when they get back.

It’s funny you mention that because that scene was playing in my head hearing them talk. It wasn’t just one who was sensitive or it resonated in a unique way.
They ALL were gushing.
“They should have sent a poet…..”

It’s annoying how these women capcom treat the astronauts like they’re 5 years old.

Agreed, they sound like kindergarten teachers.

I felt that way after a Spring Break hookup with a Hawaian Tropic girl in 1984.

Not saying I get why this project’s had so many delays, but when they show the room full of people working and see who they are and what they look like, I get it.

They're about to do another set of interviews. IIRC, CNN and MS Now are the only networks that haven't had one yet. I guess PBS could be in there too. They also haven't had any Canadian networks yet.

It makes Apollo all the more impressive.
It was all the smartest, most driven men who could be assembled, basically given a blank check from the US government to get shite done, and they did it.
The fact that its taken this long to send people on a loop around the moon again is criminal. I dont give a shite if theres no good reason to do it. We need to do it becasue we can.

Not going to lie. I had no idea what the female/male make up of NASA looked like nor do I really give a shite. BUT, there’s A TON of homely women in just about every command center shot.
Not saying it’s an issue. Just an observation.

Ironically enough, that blank check set the stage for a lot of what we are today.
Both the American and Soviet rocket ecosystems were built on building ballistic missiles.
Problem is we stole far better rocket scientists from the Germans than they. So our rockets were far smaller and more efficient. Great for nuke delivery. Not so much for the space program.
The smaller rockets meant NASA needed to spend a lot of their unlimited budget to miniaturization of computing technology in an era that an electrical computer took an entire large room.

They look like they'd love to be downing a case of beer right now.

This has been great today. Just wish it was more than just us. No one really seems to care.
Like I meationed before, we really should do a TD nerd space tailgate at the Cape for the launch of Artemis 4.
Even if it’s just a half dozen it’ll be worth it.

I have a good friend who just sold his house in titusville. Hes seen some awesome launches in his day

Also, just to illustrate the weirdness of orbital dynamics, note the orbit and position of the moon already.
