I am the furthest thing from an architect but what the hell is it with the the recent examples in BR lately.

Downtown library- structural problem aside that damn thing is an abortion.

Bluebonnet and Highland- that glass block building is just boring as frick.

Two new hospitals facing I-10. Yack!

Pecue and Perkins- Performance contractors. Nearly a billion dollar company and that’s the best they can come up with. I guess if you have money doesn’t mean you have taste.

Name a city in the world that doesn’t have some bad building designs. BR isn’t unique in this aspect.

I don't mind the hospitals. The rest I agree with completely.

I like the design of two new hospitals. Really like the colorful panels on the new children’s hospital.

That doesn't have anything to do with the aesthetics which I read the OP to be concerned with.

Post some pics of the other buildings the OP mentioned.

On its own, it looks decent. Compared to everything else around it, it just doesn't fit in.

You can have the best, or in this case worst, design in the world, but it won't matter if it doesn't stand up.

Hospitals dont look too bad. It is progress in the right direction for the state. They need to start somewhere.

LSU's business school doesn't really fit with the style of the rest of campus

Not in BR but the LSU's dental school is probably the ugliest building in the state

But that isn't what the OP was concerned about. He stated "Structural Issues aside it is an abortion". So I am only commenting on the aesthetics. It looks like an interesting building with some nice outside areas and pedestrian integration to the surrounding streets.
