That’s part of the problem with the way people treat social media. People on there are not your friends, your buddies, or even acquaintances. There’s several people I follow because I want to see what the weather is doing somewhere, or where the good runs in Colorado are, or how some team is doing, or because I like the was Galina’s arse looks on the beach. But I don’t think of a single one of those people as actually being in any way connected to me; this poor girl apparently did and put stock into the opinions of total strangers.
That’s the problem - not necessarily how we treat people on line, but how some of us value those nonexistent “relationships.”
