Massive layoff? Not possible. I just read a thread here yesterday that said companies weren’t doing this.

Be late to your own layoff meeting.
Last time I was laid off I showed up to the meeting with a plate of enchiladas and munched down as my boss was going through the platitudes.
I left the plate in his office.
