Getting a sincere "thank you"

This time of year people are throwing around thanks left and right. I don't have an issue with that but I not interested in hearing sarcastic "thaaaaank yooo"s or "thanky". Mostly women who do this but men can deal it too.
The salvation bell ringer gave a genuine thank you the other day and it was refreshing. He had a flamboyant whole merry christmas spiel to get attention but when someone tossed some change in the bucket he simmered down and gave a good solid "thank you sir".
