I get calls and texts pretty often asking to buy my house (I don't own a house) and apparently they think I am someone named Marcus. I also get texts from democrat orgs asking me if I am going to vote or donate. They also think that I am Marcus. This has been going on for years. Whoever Marcus is must have put my number down somewhere. frick that guy.

“The house isn’t on the market, but I will sell you the contents of the septic system.”

es. I throw out a crazy number. They usually just hang up.
This. I've yet to get an investor to pay my $2mil request. But one day when they bite, and we get an official contract, I'll be looking for a new home.

Tell them you want 1.5 million...
That'll get them to hang up swift.

I always tell them you called me and know the house etc. and you have 10 seconds to make a offer if I hear any other word come out of your mouth I will hang up. That usually ends the call and stops the calls for a good 6 months.

I don't get phone calls, but I've gotten a lot of spam e-mails and the occasional snail mail pitch to sell my house-----cash offer.
They all go straight to the trash bin.

Are realtors having a tough time now because of Brandon's new economy ?

Got a text this morning for 6 acres we own in a neighboring County. Just blocked the number like normal.
Will probably get another in a couple of months an Will repeat the process.

We get calls regularly about our property and had a guy actually show up at our house once. The guy that showed up, we found out later, had purchased the two houses to our left as an LLC (they're rental properties now) and wanted to have all of the properties in our section of the road to himself.
Don't do it.

When my husband died in 2019 the vultures started circling immediately. They scroll probate lists and look for people to screw….i mean "help"
Calls actually started with "I saw your name on the probate lists…."
Constant calls , constant postcards and letters. Some might get lucky with a distant out of state heir who just wants to convert for quick cash and no hassle, it’s all profit for cousin Joe or whoever anyway.
In my case, I lived in the house, still do, and I shut them down with the quickness. It was (is) infuriating to be grieving and have some a-hole trying to scam your home out from under you. Yeah, that’s a "you will NEVER be my agent when I do (if ever) decide to sell."
Since the house has appreciated quite a bit since we purchased it, the government wants to go deep in my pocket if I sell. Besides I like it here, though dealing with yard maintenance, HVac, roof, appliances and all the "joys" of home ownership is exhausting.

I get them all the time. I've begun trolling the people when the call now to irritate the shite out of them.
I get text messages too from them about my property..

When we lived in CO, we'd get calls, mail, email, flyers stuck in our door, like this very nearly every day and often multiple per day. It's to be expected in a hot housing market and particularly we were in a very affluent neighborhood where there was no development possible around us which made the area all that more desireable.

Yes, I said no thanks. I wanted to say maybe they should have tried the neighbors next door who had their house actually for sale but didn't feel like entertaining them that day.

I get these calls and texts all the time. Even for properties that I don't own.

I just go Quentin Tarrantino from Pulp Fiction on them when they call.
"Do you see a 'For Sale' sign out front? Do you know why you don't see a 'For Sale' sign out front? Because the M*F*er isn't for sale!"

I’ll sell mine for one BILLION dollars.
Posted on 7/18/24 at 10:44 am to texn
yeah but from their POV, nearly everything is for sale at the right price and they're not entirely wrong.
besides, you never know who's hanging on by their fingernails after overbuying and then having some major event in their life wondering how they're going to make it next month - someone comes along waiving cash in their face and it gives them an exit.
