JBE aka The Smacker, spent an hour preparing us. While throwing in the fact that racial discrimination is more deadly than the virus.

A few tweets from the press conference
@LouisianaGov: Even though don't have today's numbers, there are emerging trends - some things concerning. Since June 10 added more than 4.2K cases. Most not from nursing homes, so what that means is result of community spread #lagov
.@LouisianaGov says lot of talk about second wave in fall, but we are very much still in the first wave. Reality is every Louisianan needs to do a gut check on whether he or she has been slacking off on taking proper precautions.
.@LouisianaGov says LDH working to remove duplicative tests
.@LouisianaGov: Even though don't have today's numbers, there are emerging trends - some things concerning. Since June 10 added more than 4.2K cases. Most not from nursing homes, so what that means is result of community spread
@LouisianaGov: Simple fact is we need people to wear masks, wash hands, stay home where sick. Flatten curve isn't something you do once and then its over. We can easily see gains we've made evaporate
@LouisianaGov says just because more things are open doesn't mean we should go everywhere we can. If you go someplace and too many people and too few wearing masks go somewhere else. Don't go in
.@LouisianaGov: The truth is we have eased restrictions, more businesses open, more customers going into these place and I'm absolutely confident we can do that if follow restrictions and precautions
.@AlexBillioux says recently seeing a number of new cases increases statewide, not just attributed to increase in testing.

At this point, he could try to walk us all the way back to Phase 0 and I think most people would say go frick yourself. We open, baw.

Honestly I can’t really tell a difference between Phase 2 and normalcy. Maybe it’s just me

Already in phase 3 over here suckaaaa

Brings up new case numbers but doesn’t mention the massive test dumps from March and April. Also doesnt mention every metric used is decreasing.

Case numbers, etc, are going to go up as we interact more with each other, and more testing comes online.
Did anyone ask him what impact the protests are having?
If we let 500 people gather for a protest, we should let 500 people gather for anything else, and yes, all that will cause the numbers to go up. But nothing we can't handle.

Copied the tweets I thought were relevant until the Dr. started talking
Not sure why he had a press conference, I thought they were Mon Wed & Fri

I know all these people can't be idiots, but this shite is hard to comprehend. The more people that test positive that aren't sick is a good thing. In theory we'd like everyone to develop the antibody for C19 while no people die. Its not like the virus just goes away. We've been treating the flu for a century and don't have a cure.

What are the hospitalization numbers? Have they gone up or down?

What happens in phase 3 that is not happening now? Everything seems normal to me other than a few restaurants putting tape on some tables.

Football games, concerts of any kind(even the little outdoor ones that we still can’t attend), festivals, etc.to name a few
And don’t be naive, this is killing many of these restaurants.
This whole way this idiot is saying schools need to operate this fall is a damn joke

Well, when the hospitals are being made to write down illnesses that have nothing to do with corona, as corona that can be a problem
